I believe this use of noni is interchangeable with のだけれでも
ziaz, re text, if you say that, it is だけれども instead of だけれでも.
I feel like this should be listed as ればいいのに or at least いいのに. I would say that のに within the construction, by itself, is actually functioning within its "in spite of" sense.
